Linore Rose Burkard

Linore Rose Burkard
Linore Rose Burkard
BIO:

Linore Rose Burkard is the creator of "Inspirational Romance for the Jane Austen Soul." Her characters take you back in time to experience life and love during the era of Regency England (circa 1811-1820). Fans of classic romances, such as Pride & Prejudice, Emma, and Sense & Sensibility, will enjoy meeting Ariana Forsythe, a feisty heroine who finds her heart and beliefs tested by high-society London. Ms. Burkard's novels include Before the Seasons Ends and The House in Grosvenor Square. Her stories blend Christian faith and romance with well-researched details from the Regency period. Her books and monthly newsletter captivate readers with little-known facts, exciting stories, and historical insights. Experience a romantic age, where timeless lessons still apply to modern life. And, enjoy a romance that reminds you happy endings are possible for everyone. Publisher's Weekly affirms, "Ms. Burkard's command of period detail is impressive, evident in material details, but also in dialogue. Her novels even help non-Regencyphiles learn the difference between ladies' pelisses and spencers...On the whole, it's a tasty confection." Ms. Burkard began writing when she couldn't find a Regency romance with an inspirational twist. "There were Christian books that approached the genre," she says, "But, they fell short of being a genuine Regency. I knew that many women like me want stories that are historically authentic and offer glimpses of God's involvement in our lives. So, I finally gave up looking and decided to write one myself." Ms. Burkard was raised in New York, where she graduated magna cum laude from the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. She lives with her husband and five children in a town full of antique stores and gift shops in southwestern Ohio. Her hobbies include working on four new Regency novels, family movie nights, swimming, and gardening.

Readers who loved the author’s first book, Before the Season Ends, will delight in this charming sequel set in Regency London. As Ariana Forsythe plans her wedding to Philip Mornay, she must adjust to the realization that she is soon to become the wife of an extremely wealthy man. She wonders if it’s wrong to rejoice that her future husband is rich. But she promises herself to use her new position to do what she can to aid the numerous street waifs she sees all too often in London. During a tour of her future home—the house in Grosvenor Square—Ariana makes plans to redecorate according to her tastes. But when Philip arrives home later, he is informed that an expensive silver candlestick and a miniature portrait of George III have gone missing. Moreover, each time Ariana visits the house, accompanied by a friend or relation, another item disappears.

Shortly thereafter Ariana is abducted as she leaves a performance at Covent Garden Theatre, leaving Philip to unravel the pieces of the mystery. Where has his future bride been taken, and by whom? For what reason? How does Ariana’s faith play a role? Finally, after the safe return of his intended, how does Philip—a man of intense discrimination in his tastes—find the many alterations in his house? And what on earth is behind the sudden influx of bills from every charity in London, all thanking him profusely for his uncommon generosity? Will he have second thoughts about his future bride? Readers will find romance, intrigue, humor, and inspiration in this new book of spirited romance for the Jane Austen soul.

Suzanne Enoch

Suzanne Enoch
Suzanne Enoch
BIO:

Suzanne was born in Southern California. She has wanted to write practically since she learned to read. Early dreams of becoming a zoologist and writing books about her adventures in Africa were crushed after she viewed a National Geographic special on the world's most poisonous snakes—of which 99% seemed to be native to Africa. After that, and in conjunction with her first viewing of the movie Star Wars, her interest turned to the much less dangerous activity of writing fiction. She dabbled unsuccessfully in romantic fantasy for a year or two after graduating with a degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, until a delight in Regency Romances led her to write one for fun. After several encouraging rejections, she snared the interest of the world's best and most patient literary agent, who helped her re-work the manuscript. This ultimately led to the publication of her first novel, The Black Duke's Prize, from Avon Books in the Spring of 1995. It was later translated into German and published as Lady Meines Herzens in the My Lady series of historical romances in 1998.  Another Regency, Angel's Devil followed in the Fall. Angel's Devil was nominated in the Regency of the Year category of the "Romantic Times" Reviewers Choice Award.

Contrary to opinion, she was not the reason Avon Books ceased its Regency division, but when that happened she was encouraged to try her hand at historical romance. Still being infatuated with the humor and wit of the Regency period, she decided to attempt another manuscript set in that time. Lady Rogue, a March 1997 release from Avon, was the result. A second Historical, Stolen Kisses, set in 1820, at the tale end of the Regency period, was released in September 1997. By Love Undone another Regency historical was released in July 1998.  By Love Undone's sequel, Taming Rafe, was released in April 1999. Her two latest books, Reforming A Rake and Meet Me At Midnight were released in 2000. Suzanne is known for her humorous characters and witty dialogue. Still single, she resides in Anaheim, California with her Cairn terrier, Katie (named by her sisters after the heroine of The Black Duke's Prize), and her steadily growing collection of Star Wars action figures and space ships.

Never a gentleman...until now.

Lord Bramwell Johns, the second son of a duke, is an unrepentant scoundrel. Now that his two closest friends are disgustingly ensconced in domestic bliss, Bram is feeling strangely restless. And not even relieving London's least deserving aristocrats of their ill-gotten jewels is enough—until the night he overhears an argument. It seems that Lady Rosamund Davies is about to be forced into marriage with a rogue even worse than himself.

Rose is well aware of Bram's scandalous reputation, so any reason for his sudden interest in her is suspect; more so since he's close friends with the man about to ruin her family! She has her own plan though, and Bram may be just what she requires—as long as she remembers that he is only looking out for himself. As long as she remembers that his kisses and caresses don't mean anything. As long as she can keep from wondering whether she can trust a scoundrel...with her heart.

MaryLu Tyndall

MaryLu Tyndall
MaryLu Tyndall
BIO:

I grew up on the beaches of South Florida loving the sea and the warm tropics. But despite the beauty around me, I always felt an ache in my soul—a longing for something more. After college, I married and moved to California where I had two children and settled into a job at a local computer company. Although I had done everything the world expected, I was still miserable. I hated my job and my marriage was falling apart. I knew about God, had been to church most of my life, but I believed if I followed Jesus, my life would be dull, frigid and lifeless. I craved adventure and all this world had to give me. What I didn't realize was that the path I chose away from God took me away from the exact thing I dreamed of and sent me spiraling down the road to destruction and agony. I was empty inside, searching for something to fill the void in my life. I knew in my heart that there must be something more to this world, must be some reason I was here. My first marriage failed and many lives were affected by the breakup of our family.

Still searching for purpose, adventure and true love, I spent my late twenties and early thirties doing all the things the world told me would make me happy, and after years, my children suffered, my second marriage suffered, and I was still miserable. One day, I picked up my old Bible, dusted it off, and began to read. Somewhere in the middle, God opened my hardened heart to see that He was real, that He still loved me, and that He had a purpose for my life, if I'd only give my heart to Him completely. I had written stories my whole life, but never had the confidence to try and get any of them published. But as God began to change my heart, He also showed me that writing had been His wonderful plan for me all along. Even though I was still working full time, He gave me the means to write a book, an agent, and a publisher willing to print it. And anyone who has ever tried to get published knows that any one of these things is a miracle in itself. I am now living the adventure I had always sought. My life is filled with purpose and love and I give all the glory to God. Many other miracles have happened in my family since I gave my life to Jesus, and all I can say is I truly look forward to every day. To God be the Glory!
