Price of Love by Shelley Munro

Price of Love by Shelley Munro
Price of Love by Shelley Munro
Well you remember that I had Shelley Munro guest blog a couple of days ago. Well Shelley was nice enough to give me a copy of her recent release Price of Love. I told her that I would love to read it and post my review of it here as soon as possible. Well I just have to say that I'm glad Shelley gave me this copy because I devoured it in a few hours and I loved it! I love paranormals and this one is about shifters which is also one of my favorites. This is the second e-book that I've read so far and I'm starting to understand what the appeal of reading e-books is about. I thought that it was a good quick read about a Tiger shifter named Kersen Amat who wants leopard Jarita Namar.

I thought that it was cute that Kersen and Jarita both wanted each other but were clueless that the other wanted the other. This e-book paranormal is very different from other paranormals that I've read but the plot kept me reading until I finished. I couldn't get enough of the sexual tension between Kersen and Jarita and I thought that they are good mates because they both are too strong willed to let the other dominate them. I don't like to give too much from the book because not everyone has read the book yet but I can say that if you like paranormal/shifter novels than this is the e-book for you. I give this e-book 3 Open Books.

Felicity Stripped Bare by Vanessa Jaye

Felicity Stripped Bare by Vanessa Jaye
Felicity Stripped Bare by Vanessa Jaye
I entered a contest a couple of weeks ago that Vanessa Jaye was giving away two *e-book* copies of Felicity Stripped Bare, all she asked is that you post a review online once you've read it and send her the link so she could post it the link to the review on her blog. I was lucky enough to have one that copy and I have finished reading it and now I'm writing my review. Felicity Stripped Bare is out on July 8th and you can get it by visiting Samhain Publishing.

I honestly loved the e-book very much and I am glad that I won the contest because on top of getting a free e-book I found a new author I enjoy reading. Felicity Cameron is such a complex heroine and very different from the heroines that I've usually read about. I liked how she interacted and fell in love with Daniel Mackenzie and it was fun to read about how they struggled to deny their growing attraction to each other. It was fun reading about all the problems that Felicity and Daniel had to go through in order to really understand that they were meant for each other. I really thought Daniel's mother, Elle, a very nice woman but his father, Michael, is a not to my liking because he seemed to me as a real jerk. I like Felicity's friend, Cheryl, was what a friend should be because she tried to look out for Felicity as best she could and supported her when she needed it and when Felicity's ex-boyfriend tries to get her to take him back Cheryl is there to kick his butt to the curb for her friend. I don't like giving spoilers when I write my reviews so I won't go into the story in details. All I can say is that I loved it and I'm glad that I won the e-book and I really recommend that you consider putting this e-book at the top of your list of books to buy and read. I give this e-book 3.5 Open Books.

Dark Waters by Gabriella Hewitt

Dark Waters by Gabriella Hewitt
Dark Waters by Gabriella Hewitt
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by one of the two ladies who write under the name Gabriella Hewitt. Sasha Tomaszycki contacted me because she visited my blog before and wanted to know if I would review her book and even interview her. Her e-book Dark Waters is finally in print today and I will be posting an interview with her later on today where you can post your questions about Dark Waters. Well now on to my review of her book, which she gave me an e-copy for me to read and review and was very nice enough to send my an autographed print copy when she got a new stack sent from the Samhain Publishing company.

I have to say that it was pretty exciting to read about a myth such as the chupacabra because as you may not know my mother is Dominican and my father is Puerto Rican and I've heard many stories of the chupacabra. I also don't usually read that many romance novels about Hispanic people and this book was such a nice change of pace for me. Frankie Montalvo is a strong Latina woman who had a very tough childhood since she was an only child and both her parents died and she was put into the New York foster system. Rico Lopez is a strong Latin man who had a loving childhood with both loving parents and his siblings both sisters and brother. From the first page the story captivated me because of the whole el chupacabra angle that was being used in the novel. I've seen a couple of pictures and even an interesting movie about the chupacabra and so reading this novel really fascinated me. I have to say that the characters Frankie and Rico also held my attention because they really got one another's attention from the start of the book.

The story kept me on my toes because of all the suspense with the chupacabra and Frankie's very strange family member such as her drunken uncle and high priestess aunt. I loved the sexual tension between Frankie and Rico. They make an interesting couple and very good together even though they had a lot of rough roads to get through in order to finally realize that they were meant for each other. I also didn't expect the novel to end the way it did and I really loved how it ended. I'm really glad that I was fortunate enough to get a free copy of this wonderful sexy and suspenseful tale with a tropical twist that kept me so intrigued I had to keep turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next with Frankie and Rico. I give this book 4.5 Open Books.

Tempt me with Darkness by Shayla Black

Tempt me with Darkness by Shayla Black
Tempt me with Darkness by Shayla Black
Shayla Black is a new author that I recently stumbled upon by surfing the internet. I was visiting a blog that a recent author I've discovered called Shiloh Walker is a blogger at, which is called After Midnight Fantasies. On the day that I stopped by this blog Shayla Black was having a contest with the prize of an ARC of Tempt me with Darkness, which will be out in bookstores everyone on Tuesday, August 26th. She still has a contest going on her website where you can win a copy of the book and it ends on August 31st so hurry up.

When I read the description of the novel I knew it was going to be good because I love anything to do with King Arthur, Morganna and Merlin. It has always fascinated me and so this book really intrigued me because I've read a couple of other books about King Arthur and his knights and they are all very different from each other. I couldn't but this book down, unless it was important, it captivated me from the beginning and held me there throughout the entire novel. Marrok is an intriguing character that is cursed to live forever for crossing Morganna and that is all about to change when he meet one of Morganna's descendents. Olivia Grey looks almost exactly like Morganna and she even has the same mark as her so when Marrock is finally introduced to her he is furious. He thinks that Olivia is Morganna in disguise and is only here to torture him so more.

Throughout the novel Olivia and Marrock go through many dangerous incidents because a great evil called Mathias is now awakened is out to get Olivia and Morganna's magic book, which Marrock has guarded. There were a couple of parts in the that I had a hard time understanding and I had to read it a couple of times over to understand fully on what was going on but in the end it helped me understand the characters better. The affection that Marrock and Olivia have together is very passionate and yet the both struggle with it because Marrock has lived for years without knowing loving and Olivia had to live with a mother who never showed her any real affection. There was a part towards the end of the book that I really had difficulty reading because it made me sad and uncomfortable. But don't let that keep you from picking up a copy of this amazing book because I have to tell you it made me want for Shayla Black to hurry up and finish writing the rest of the series. And it's going to be a long wait because I heard that the next two books in the series, Seduce me in Shadow and Possess me at Midnight, will be coming in October and November of 2009. I give this book 4 Open Books.
